Born into a family of top obi suppliers in Japan, Izumi Ogino spent her formative years studying traditional arts and crafts. This influence is clear even in her creativity in fashion today. In the 1980s, Izumi moved to Hong Kong where she first established ANTEPRIMA before moving to Italy to launch the label.
In 1998, Izumi presented her Spring/Summer Collection at Milano Moda Donna. She was the first Japanese woman whose Italian brand was spotlighted at the exclusive event. Izumi Ogino has brought ANTEPRIMA to international acclaim through passion and three important principles that the brand, and its look, adheres to — simplicity, strictness and minimalism.
